 I bought myself some Mason jar tops for sprouting, since I like sprouts and it seems like whenever I buy them at the store they go bad. No matter how small the package is and how fresh it seems to be, I guarantee by the next day the bottom of the bag will be awash with nasty brown fluid. Problem is I always forget how much to use - it's two tablespoons of dried mung beans. Not an entire quarter-cup. That's how you end up with ...
 
I think I may have enough sprouts for the time being. As it is I'm going to whip up some kongnamul this afternoon. The rest will probably just go in a stir-fry as per usual. Although a batch of homemade ramen sounds good, too.

It should be a pretty quiet day around here, though we have weather moving in again. Last week my long run was cut short by thunderstorms. The power was knocked out - turned out there was a tree on a power line just up the road from us - and stayed out for seven hours. Tonight through tomorrow we're supposed to get more rain and storms, but hopefully not as intense. And just to be sure I'm going to get that long run in earlier. 

I had weird dreams. I woke up feeling anxious and slightly embarrassed about something, couldn't understand why and then realized my brain spent the night fucking with me. Thanks, brain. Anyway, at least my yearly prescription renewal went okay. My doc signed off on them without requiring an appointment, and the mail order company actually sent them out in a timely fashion, so that's one less thing to stress about. 

I also ate a metric fuckton of buffalo cauliflower last night. It was good though! Roasted spicy cauliflower is probably going to be my new go-to lunch and snack thing for a while. I also discovered the joy of smoothie bowls. Mine aren't really Instagram-pretty but they're tasty, which is more important. Key lime smoothie bowl for tomorrow, and acai berry & almond butter for Tuesday. Then I may make a big batch of nice cream to store in the freezer and use as a base the rest of the week.
