Just Morning Rambling
Dec. 3rd, 2024 08:46 amFox has one of those percussive massage guns and I used it last night on my legs where the muscles are still stiff and sore. Mostly the muscles along the outer part of my thighs, in the area of the IT tract. Normally for a marathon I'd start having a lot of pain there at around mile 16 - 18, but this time it didn't really kick in until about mile 22, so I'm pleased that my stretches and strengthening exercises are helping. I'm going to continue doing those. This morning I was able to get up and stand up reasonably well, and once I was moving around, everything loosened up enough that I can now stand up unassisted and walk without swaying or shuffling.
His work has a Christmas thing this Friday, and I may go with him and drop him off, then take the opportunity to go to Jax Oriental while they're having their team lunch. If he doesn't mind waiting a few minutes, I can stop at Chamblin Book Mine and grab Return to the Whorl on the way home. If they're having Indian, I may get a take-out box of biryani. Mmm.
I found another solo TTRPG I want to play. LOL. Void 1680 has you playing an AM radio DJ, building song blocks and taking calls. Late night AM radio used to be absolutely wild stuff, I don't know how it is now. Radio in general sucks now, everything's Clear Channel automation playing whatever is most popular. Driving across the country was fun because you could pick up local stations and hear what was going on there, what was popular in their little part of the world, hear live DJs. Driving through Alabama once, I heard some DJ riffing on the "adoptable pets" ads the local shelter was putting out, and he was coming up with these crazy back stories of why these animals were in "pet jail." It was funny enough that I had to pull over for a while because I couldn't drive and laugh. ANYWAY. Sorry. Yeah, I hate the way radio's gone, but I do love talking to myself and making music playlists!
My calamondin tree has a ton of fruit on it, so I'm probably going to start making loaves of calamondin sweet bread to give out as gifts. And stick a few into my freezer.
I know that with Over the Mountain (Day two is up on Pillowfort!) I'm perhaps not supposed to run things like this, but I again rolled for all the encounters in a day. I like seeing patterns emerge, and then working them into the story I tell for that day. Herman Bonner shows up again, and I'm back at the community center. (Yes I'm switching out my dice LOL) I'm also revising the entries and correcting minor things like shifts in tone and tense, and I'll post these to my personal web site, which I tend to forget about. I have some of my comics up, but it seems like a good place to post fiction since I can easily set up navigation links and not need to worry about tags being broken or whatever.
I've had this open all morning and I'm just rambling.
