We're having some interesting weather lately. I'd prefer less interesting weather, but we've ruined the climate so it is what it is. The system that went through last night had lost a lot of its power by the time it got here, which is good because it was dropping baseball-sized hail on Alabama. We did get a little hail, but it was more pea-sized. We have insurance on the solar array but we'd rather not have to file a claim and then replace panels.
But I woke up to an email from NWS JAX warning us about more storms today, so we'll see how that shakes out. The good side is that these storms are keeping the temps a little lower, so it should "only" be 88 today.
I am probably just being paranoid but I also worry about next month, because Florida's permitless carry begins on the first. It's making me consider just availing myself to curbside pickup at all my usual errand stops and simply avoid anything else. We've got people around here pulling guns in the damn McDonald's drive through, so just imagine the chaos when anyone who wants to can walk around with a loaded gun hidden on their person. The is genuinely worrisome. I know some people are very attached to the "good man with a gun" narrative, and while these good men may have good intentions, they also have likely not had much training and have never been in a hostile fire situation, and may well end up causing more trouble than they help.
Anyway.
I only have one box of unused art stuff to get rid of now, and I may offer it to my neighbor, though it's a lot of small bits and baubles, and she may not want to spend the next few weeks stepping on pieces. But one of her girls is very creative and likes to paint and draw, so she may be thrilled with this stuff. I can just ask Jaime next time I see her. I tidied up the empty space and lined up my Childcraft books, and now just have two boxes, one of Fox's childhood stuff and one of my own. Not entirely sure what to do with those at the moment so they can just live where they are, since they don't take up a lot of space.
I've done some sketchbook doodling, and started doing a digital drawing of Feisal where I'm trying to be a little more artsy and illustrative, but my style feels sort of stuck in between too comic-book to be realism and too detailed to be cartoony.
