Of Course There Are Burpees
May. 2nd, 2020 06:21 am Today would have been the Spartan City obstacle course race in Jax, but ... *shrugs* Because I apparently enjoy torturing myself I'm electing to do the virtual Spartan today, and I'm about to suit up for the running portion, since I have the luxury of being able to run outdoors here. And that's a luxury that's dependent on weather, because right now it's nice and the brutal Florida summer hasn't quite set in yet. (Kind of weird that it's still nice in May, but I'm pretty sure this has happened before.)
In place of the obstacles, they've compiled a list of exercises, and this suffer-fest includes ten pushups, burpees, mountain climbers (per side), jumping jacks,air squats, forward lunges (per side), hand-release pushups, tuck jumps, plank up-downs, planks shoulder taps (per side), knee slap mountain climbers (per side), reverse lunges (per leg), glute bridges, dips, decline pushups, single leg squats (per side), and calf raises. It also includes a ten second plank, hollow hold, and isolated squat or just a regular squat where you go down and stay there. My plan is to run, do all that, and if I'm not literally deceased, breakfast and a shower.
