The Reeds

Did I ever share the story about sitting up at night as a kid because I couldn't sleep?

Also, another sanity check on my part, did any of you ever come across a weird/creepy story called "The Reeds"? It was about some people on some sort of expedition who get lost in this massive marsh with a bunch of reed beds and people start hallucinating that the marsh plants are out to get them. They start dying off one by one because one member of the group actually is turning into a sort of sentient plant or plant elemental-type of being.

If you haven't then I probably made it up and should write it for real. But I've gone through all my books here, searched Google, and can't find the story anywhere. There's apparently a British suspense movie by the same name that Rotten Tomatoes hated, but it seems it's more of a crime story than a supernatural one.

The concept of The Reeds actually sounds similar to something I watched on tv many years ago. It started out as one of those teen/young adult numbers where they're off on some trek. It definitely involved creepy reeds that seemed to be killing them off one by one. It's been too long ago for me to recall now any more info about it.

But 100% you should write the story!

That actually sounds like a good watch, let me know if the name of it comes back to you! I keep thinking the same thing, that I must have watched or read it somewhere but I simply can't find the story anywhere.

I think I am going to write it, maybe illustrate it.
