I had a uterine fibroid a couple of years ago that got infected and sent me to the hospital with septicemia. Because searing pain for weeks on end wasn't a tip-off to me that something was wrong :D They removed it surgically. I spent five days in the hospital switching between Cartoon Network, SyFy, and the I Wanna Go Home channels.
