Those paintings are gorgeous! Simultaneously like coastline maps and stellar photographs.
I've only been to the Gulf coast once, when I was young, but I remember being surprised by how warm the water was. I was used to Pacific water off the Oregon coastline and thought I'd need to brace myself before I entered, and it was like a bath in comparison.
