We've got about two weeks until RunDisney, so this is the weekend on my training schedule (from Hal Higdon's website) has me running a rehearsal Dopey Challenge. I did 2.5 miles today, tomorrow I will do five, then ten Saturday and twenty on Sunday. After that I start tapering, and last year, doing this weekend gave me a lot more confidence in my ability to complete all these races. I'm still looking for some validation, mainly because I'm paranoid and I don't like to assume that just because I was successful once I'll be successful again. But I feel reasonably confident going into this thing.

With some gift cards I received as early Christmas gifts I bought a new pair of running shoes. My old New Balance pair is history, and I'm not even sure if I should donate them to one of those charities that refurbishes running shoes for disadvantaged school athletes, or if they're just so beaten down that I should toss 'em. I went for another pair of Mizuno - this time a pair of Shadows. My current pair are Hayates, but I don't think I need trail shoes right now as I'm doing most of my training on the treadmill. They may or may not be here in time to break them in.

I made yet another batch of bagels, these look a lot better and were much easier to handle, but they're still cooling off so I haven't tasted them yet. I'm finally starting to get the hang of shaping them - a few don't look like weird flat buns with slits in the middle! Huzzah.

I didn't even run that much today and I'm starving. I have turned into such a food vacuum lately - it's kind of weird. I guess I should go work on dinner.
