Another Dopey In The Books
Jan. 16th, 2025 08:45 amI'm somehow still alive. Yesterday was a very low point, and I was plagued by aches and pains all day, the worst being my left leg from hip to ankle. There was no getting comfortable and no OTC medicine that did more than dull the edge of pain, but I scraped by. I did almost nothing except lie on the couch, and couldn't even really focus on reading. Today I'm still aching, but not nearly as bad. I'm considering upgrading my sleeping pad - the futon rests on a memory foam pad that's about eight years old now and starting to tear and break down in places.
Saturday was supposed to be warmer. It wasn't. And it rained. Thirteen miles in the cold and wet, soaked to the bone. Sunday was cold again, but dry, and I did not want to do it. Didn't want to get out of bed, to run, anything. Though once we were out there, it did get better. The second half went by faster than the first - something I've never experienced in a marathon. Fox and I are both getting very burnt out on RunDisney though. The stress every step of the way, from getting registered to having to hurry up and wait in the starting corrals is all just such a tedious grind that we'd rather take a break.
Today, I need to go do some grocery shopping. We didn't stop on the way home, which was probably a mistake, but I've managed to feed us on what we had here and leftover camping food, but we need fresh provisions.
Crowley has been super-clingy since I got home, and I think his separation anxiety went into complete overdrive. He's gotten better as of last night and today. The first two nights I was back he'd wake me up meowing every so often, making it hard to properly rest, and he tended to sleep right on top of me, so that I couldn't move or roll over.
I have some strength training this afternoon, and I need to finish cleaning out the camper so it can be put away before the rain moves in.
