Not Hot Yet

We're getting an unexpectedly long run out to summer here. The windows are still open when I believe this time last year we'd already shut the house up. It has been about a year, actually, my DW account is up for renewal which I need to remember to do.

My legs are sore - I've been neglecting to do my yoga, and worse, neglecting to stretch properly before I run. I was attacking a Darebee workout challenge for the month but I'm seriously considering resetting my progress and starting again tomorrow. I screwed up two days, and I'm pretty sure you're supposed to do the whole 30-day thing in thirty consecutive days. I feel decent enough today, though Fox is suffering through some sort of seasonal cold and/or something a coworker gave him. Normally they encourage sick employees to stay home, but they were doing an implementation and genuinely needed all hands. I'm just sort of tired today. I did a seven mile run this morning and I'm catching up on some random household chores but I don't feel like doing a whole lot. I'd prefer to just park on the couch and read until I can reasonably go to bed. Hopefully I'm not catching Fox's crud.

I've got about two dozen tomato seedlings that can be set out but hopefully they'll wait until Wednesday.

Baby Sheba ended up going to the vet Friday. She's always been more prone to throwing up than other cats I've had but she started having litterbox problems - as in not making it to the box. Cleaning up cat ass explosions wasn't fun, and I'm sure she didn't feel too hot about it, either. The vet gave her a clean bill of health but gave me a run of probiotics for her, including a powder for her food, and a paste she gets twice daily. The paste isn't something she exactly likes, but she doesn't object too strenuously to it. It's supposed to be beef flavored but it kind of tastes like Marmite. It's only been two days but so far, so good. Also no one was seriously injured crating her! Yay! For a seven pound cat, she can put up a hell of a fight.

And speaking of stomach problems, I myself developed lactose intolerance, so I'm off dairy now. I found a dosage level of lactase that works okay for me, but it's easier to just avoid cheese, milk, and etc. altogether. It's helped shape up my diet really well, and for some reason it acted as a catalyst to me going way more towards vegetarianism/veganism. I had wanted to shift my eating habits that way for a while anyway. Plant-based diets are just better for you anyway. I feel pretty good. ;D

Tomorrow is my usual busy Monday cleaning day, and I think Tuesday I'll go to the used book store and treat myself. I have a couple of books on Roman history I'd like to look for, and novels by Haruki Murakami and Yrsa Sigurdardottir. (Sorry, I don't have the Icelandic keyboard on my Chromebook. I could install it but I'm kind of lazy.) Ugh - if it were earlier in the day I'd make coffee. Maybe I will anyway.
