It's Almost Sort of Spring

It has been a busy and somewhat eventful couple of weeks here. Fox's friend who runs our ISP is working overtime on towers and stuff, not only because one of his main ones got torn down by a tornado, but he's seeing an increase in new clients, and he's doing a lot of upgrade work. Fox helps by doing network maintenance and keeping an eye on traffic, threats, etc. Later this month or possibly April, our tower is getting an extra 20 feet so we can "see" the other side of Belmore.
My blood work came back less than stellar this time around and I'm now pre-diabetic. Fun times. I've already started making significant dietary changes, but I know it can take several weeks for things to turn around if they're gonna. I feel about the same in general, but less tired and I seem to be sleeping better. I'm also a lot less hungry. I'm supposed to be getting a liver ultrasound done as well but no one's bothered calling to make the appointment, c'est la vie.
I have also signed up for a Boston Athletics account online. As you may or may not know (or care!) the Boston Marathon is adding a virtual race this year. I want in. This is my only shot at a unicorn medal, since I know I'll never run a qualifying time. Fox seems to think I could but I think he's overestimating my abilities. Anyway, they haven't opened it yet, and I know I'll have a lot of competition signing up, but cross your fingers for me!
Today I saw a Red-Shouldered Hawk carrying a snake it had caught. It was en route to a stand of tall pines on my running route. They may have a nest there, but I kind of doubt it - that seems kind of exposed. I never have figured out where the hawks nest, but I haven't put much effort into looking, since bothering a couple of nesting raptors is not the best idea. I could end up donating way more blood than I mean to. Also, three Crows seem to be staking out the area around our house. Yesterday they hung around cawing, today they're back. Almost like they're saying "This is our territory!" And since no one is cawing back, "No it's not!" they may move in.
YAY CROW FRIENDS
I'm just waiting around for a miso sauce to cook down. Reading random stuff on Reddit. Thought I'd check in here and let y'all know that I'm not dead, but it's not from lack of trying.
