Accidental Cleanup

 I eventually found my plug - I don't actually know where it was hiding, but it did turn up. I started taking apart my bed, removed the sheets and blankets, shoved the mattress and pad aside, then shifted the bed frame, and I still didn't see it. I was using a flashlight, thinking that the light might glint off it. 

When I moved here, now almost nine years ago, I brought some things that were large and flat that just got shoved under the bed. Later, Ex Husband sent me a bunch more shit that also got shoved under the bed. ALL that was thrown out today. Here's what I don't understand 

"Hey, I have this stuff of yours, do you want it?"

"No, just toss it out."

"I can't do that, I'll just send it to you."

Yay, he sent it to me anyway so *I* could throw it away? Look, I already said for you to do it, and you spent all the money to pack and ship it to me when you could just have easily tossed it into a nearby dumpster just as well. Fucking idiot. So an ancient portfolio case, some shit of his that I still don't know why he sent it to me, some ... picture puzzles wtf ... old luggage. This shit is mildewed and covered with cat hair (and barf, in one case, lovely, I know) and just ... look, if I haven't wanted it in nine years I am not likely to want it in the future. I also ditched the bed frame and box springs and just put the mattress on the floor - why not? The only oddity is that now my bedside lamp is a little high but we've got a plan for that. I think I will sleep a lot better with that cleared out, also. And like I said, in the midst of this I'd actually given up, and was telling Fox I didn't understand where the plug could have possibly gone, when it was right there on the floor. It must have been in the blankets or something.

But it's good to get all that cleaned up. See, my year of cleaning and minimizing is starting to get its own momentum! The cats are a little sad that one of their favorite hiding places is gone though. Poor kitties ... LOL.

I'm baking another batch of chai scones to take with us, most of the packing is done. Now I'm getting antsy because time to go now go go go go go go go.  

So perhaps I'll go try to do some digital art for a while, or read. I'm not super hungry so dinner may just be an informal "eat when you get hungry" thing. I have no idea :D WHEEEE I'M EXCITED ABOUT RUNNING No seriously, this is going to be loads of fun, and moreso since Fox is running with me! We're in the same corrals for the 5k and half marathon, but he's in the last corral for the 10k, and I'm in ... F or G. I'm a Dopey Challenger so I'm getting bumped back a corral or two anyway. I'm not planning to stop for character photos unless Marie is out at the 5k again this year, in which case I gotta. 

Maybe I'll just go take a shower before it gets cold again.

I also tend to do a twice-yearly cleanup, though this is getting more ruthless as I get rid of things I no longer want or need and can't justify hanging on to. I don't know what's going to happen to all this stuff once it's out of my hands, which is the only part that bothers me. I don't want to just top off landfills with useless crap - but that's also going to influence my spending (or non-spending) now.
