Today's project - calamondin puree.

Last time we were at Jax Oriental Market, I saw they were starting to stock Filipino items, including bottles of kalamansi. It's the same fruit. Anyway, I also learned that when making cakes and frostings with it, you should puree the whole fruit, rather than just juicing. Juice is great for pies and marinades though. So today I'll be going through a basket of them to remove the seeds and the rubbery central rib, which I've read can make the puree "weirdly chewy," and then bottling it up to store in the fridge.

Once I have that I plan to try out an "Old Florida" cake recipe with it, and an unusual one for me in that I don't buy boxed cake mixes, but this one calls for a box of basic yellow cake mix.

I think I mentioned it already but I'm just pleased as I can be that the yuzu tree is putting out a bunch of new growth. I was afraid it wasn't going to make it but it seems to finally be bouncing back. I honestly have never had any problems with deer going after my citrus trees, but for whatever reason, one of them stripped that poor little guy bare.

The new Chromebook is nice - it's got a much bigger screen and better resolution. The speakers aren't great but they're a huge improvement over the little ones on my older book.

I feel so off today. Yesterday and last night Fox had system patching and testing that ended up running really late, and we didn't eat dinner until around eight. And he even thought he was done, so I started prepping food and then the system blew up and he needed to go back and work on it for a couple of hours.
