Visit the Folks
Dec. 24th, 2024 06:26 amWe're heading to Orlando today to visit Fox's parents. His mom is trying to get his brother to show up, too, but for whatever reason he rarely comes over, despite living in the same city. Anyway, depending on what happens we might talk his parents into going with us to Winter Park to see the decorations there, since Fox and I derped out and didn't go to Nights of Lights in St. Augustine. Then tomorrow is obviously Christmas Day. I don't have special plans for it, but I may spend the day making a small yellow cake. Traditionally you'd frost that with chocolate, but I wonder if a matcha buttercream might be nice on it. No reason not to try.
I've talked Fox into doing a Day One Hike at Payne's Prairie, too :D But that's a next week thing.

Date: 2024-12-26 11:36 am (UTC)His brother did show, and it seems like he's over whatever he was upset about. For years, Fox's brother was actually angry at him for something, but he wouldn't talk about it, so ... what to do? But he seems to be acting like it was water under the bridge now.
Winter Park was pretty - they have an old-fashioned looking main street area and it was all decorated. Same for the park. On our way home it got dark, so we saw more lights out in the country here where we live. One of the parks along the old railroad line put up a big lighted locomotive.
