2nd place in age group - 31:54 - not my fastest but better than I expected!

It was a little cooler this morning than the forecast led me to believe. Fox also placed in his age group, and considering he hasn't been able to train since May I think that's terrific. It was a nice, overcast morning with a little breeze.

Florida State College had a bunch of kids registered so the overall results are a little skewed to their track team, but I mean ... who really minds :D I was 69th place overall, which was smack in the middle, and also sixty-ninth which I am definitely going to keep laughing about. Nice.

I didn't run quite as fast as previous years, but I've been able to tell this summer that I was feeling slower and like everything was more effort. I'm putting it down to simple aging, but that isn't going to stop me from pushing myself more as things cool off to see if I can't get some of my speed back. We'll also see how Fox's leg does after this - he has PT again Tuesday.

Now I have a down week where I won't be lifting weights or running at all. Probably a daily walk, definitely yoga. Fox thinks I can have a Wednesday base run but we'll see how paranoid I'm feeling ahead of my blood work.

Congratulations! You may not be as fast as you once were, but you're still moving and that's what is most important.
