Rainy Night in Florida

Last night's storms were pretty impressive! We got almost two inches of rain, lots of lightning and thunder, and we still have small cells passing through early this morning. No hail that I'm aware of, and lightning didn't take out any power here. And considering how close some of the strikes were, looking at an online lightning map, I'm guessing our grounding efforts on the radio tower have paid off.

It's very soggy and wet outside, and with another storm cell moving quickly from the west, I'm not going out right now. The birds are outside looking for their feeders, but I'm not putting them out until this next batch of rain passes. The birds will be fine. But all this rain means the road will be nice and firm for a while, so this weekend's runs won't be such a slog.

I got a new page of my comic done yesterday. I won't say I'm back in my groove but I'm working again. I'd like to finish the pic of Feisal, too. I have a pencil drawing of Crowley I need to scan and start painting up.

I should have made a larger pot of coffee, but I honestly thought I'd have one cup, head out for a walk, and be gone by now. Aeropress to the rescue.

We're getting some storms and rain where I'm at as well, but no outages (which happen on occasion) thankfully...for now.

I'm grateful for the rain, but we're now keeping an eye on some tropical activity. I'd prefer to not have some monster hurricane in the Gulf.
