A Close One For Everyone

Even though it's a half-hour into town, I went to get my medication anyway because I like not being in pain. And on the way home I got to witness a truck overturning on SR21. Actually it was just before this very narrow, scary bridge that I always dread just because of things like this. There's next to no shoulder and no room to move if something bad happens. It looked like the dump truck driver either swerved to miss something or a tire blew, and he over-corrected, then he couldn't control it anymore. This big dump truck was fishtailing into and out of my lane, and then he flipped three or four times. He was actually okay! Scratched and bruised but not seriously injured, and he didn't hit anyone. I called it in - me and a couple of other drivers who saw it, and we hung out until the cops came. Hopefully I won't get any calls from insurance adjusters.
We should be opening the windows again maybe as soon as tomorrow night. Feisal is acting like he sees something outside, but it could be a deer. They've been super-active lately. I'm starting to have more visitors to my bird feeders. And there's a truly massive Orb Weaver that's built a web near the head of the driveway. This freaking spider has got to be as big as my hand. Sometimes in the morning when I'm out I can see the webs built way up in the trees - you just look for the silhouette of a spider against the sky. Yeah, they're big enough to see from the ground.
Weird - something thumped against the storm door. Maybe the spiders know I'm talking shit about them on the internet. :O
Or the deer want to come in the house.

My son drives a stretch of highway daily just over an hour to go to school. There is near constant construction on it, so the lanes are very narrow & the shoulders are blocked off by cement barricades. So he witnesses a lot of accidents involving semis. Very scary.
Ugh, you describing the tree-dwelling spiders gave me shivers about experiencing them when I lived in GA.
At night we'd hear 'knocking' on our patio door. We half-joked it was the spiders because the yard was fenced & our dogs weren't outside. When we first moved in before we got pest control in place, whenever we'd open that door, they'd scurry in. It was truly terrifying. It didn't help that the carpet color completely camouflaged them.
