I'm waiting on approval to a local Buy Nothing group for some of the things I'm getting rid of, but I also tossed out two bags worth of items that were basically trash. I had one bag of glass and metal that I put in the recycling, and some stuff like weird scraps of wood and etc that I simply put on our outdoor burn pile. There are a couple of boxes of old paints, glues, and busted electronics that I'll haul over to the hazmat center at the county dump tomorrow.
Unfortunately, all of this means I've dismantled Feisal's kitty fortress and he now has to hide from thunderstorms under the dresser in the bedroom.
The remaining stuff can easily be grouped into jewelry and beading, scrapbook paper and ephemera, and wooden boxes. So that should be easy to list on Buy Nothing. I haven't actually found the fabric scraps yet, but I'm not worried about ferreting out every little thing right now.
It also means I spent so much time cleaning that I didn't draw anything, but I'm happy with what's happening now. It's nice to have the space freed up, and the subtle mental pressure off, because as soon as I walk in my office, I see the stacks of boxes of this stuff, so it's probably been pretty discouraging on a subconscious level.
