When I was at the Fresh Market earlier today, I picked up a Hu Chocolate bar - specifically a cashew butter and vanilla one. I wasn't sure what name to search under so I typed "Human chocolate bar" into My Fitness Pal to see what would come up.




I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to believe that a human body has a mere 7500 calories. And then there are entries for a baby, and for human breast milk. What the actual fuck.

EDIT!  It turns out a human body has WAY more than 7,460 calories if you eat every single edible portion. More like 18,000. Here's the sauce. I mean source. Definitely not sauce. ¬_¬

This reminds me of all those Soylent commercials I've been seeing on Youtube lately. I was at first completely baffled as to why anyone would name their real, honest-to-goodness food product after a fictional dystopian food product made from human corpses, but now I'm pretty sure they're trying to sell us literally EVERYTHING under late-stage capitalism, right down to irony and actual human corpses.

I was vastly amused by the name Soylent when it came out, but over time it's come to disturb me more and more. You're right - leave it to capitalism to make consuming processed human flesh profitably hip and edgy.
