Shokupan!! sashagee got really into making it after I introduced her to it when we went to Mitsuwa (Japanese grocery store chain) and now she bakes it every week or so. We don't have to worry about it going bad because it'll all get eaten immediately.
I have some chestnut dorayaki I've been eating but I got those from the store--I've never tried baking them. sashagee made some once but we determined that the cost/time ratio was less efficient than just buying them, which means all that red bean paste is just sitting in our pantry.
