As for NES, I've only seen bits and pieces of the first film and the second (neither in full), but I read that Michael Ende didn't care much for the original films and wanted his name removed from them, so I think remakes with his estate's involvement would be a good thing. I still would be interested in seeing the original films, though, and reading the original book as well.
