Wow, I'm glad the truck driver wasn't seriously injured nor did he hit anyone! That's truly amazing! My son drives a stretch of highway daily just over an hour to go to school. There is near constant construction on it, so the lanes are very narrow & the shoulders are blocked off by cement barricades. So he witnesses a lot of accidents involving semis. Very scary.
Ugh, you describing the tree-dwelling spiders gave me shivers about experiencing them when I lived in GA. At night we'd hear 'knocking' on our patio door. We half-joked it was the spiders because the yard was fenced & our dogs weren't outside. When we first moved in before we got pest control in place, whenever we'd open that door, they'd scurry in. It was truly terrifying. It didn't help that the carpet color completely camouflaged them.
