Both my dogs started doing something very similar. I finally realized their issue was because they were losing their hearing so they perceived everything as a threat. That yelping gets old real fast. Now I've learned to simply let in my dog when she first indicates she's ready instead of getting angry. It still grates on my nerves if I'm in the middle of something & can't let her in right away. But yeah - I totally get where you're coming from.
